Isplora.com’s year – A success beyond expectations!IsploraUpdates
Isplora.com takes stock of 2019: films, magazine and social networks
The end of the year gives us the opportunity to share the lines of our journey with you and consolidate the development prospects of the Isplora.com project.
Last spring I talked to you about the new features of our portal, our goals and the projects in the process of being produced. We announced a change, an impetus towards the future, in the belief that architecture needed a new method to narrate itself.
On the one hand, the educational offer for architects was increased in terms of content, on the other hand we kept on providing an increasingly innovative and fulfilling narration of architecture, with a platform that is unmatched in the field of continuing education.
The Isplora.com platform offers cinematic-quality films on architecture, in the belief, confirmed by the great success achieved in 2019, that we need to have high standards, with the mission to become the Netflix of architecture.
The Portal Isplora.com
Tens of thousands of registered members and credits awarded in Italy (approved by the CNAPPC) only in 2019 confirm that Isplora.com can fill the gap left by our competitors in the continuing education of architects. It is thus unsurprising that other professional associations are contacting Isplora.com to contribute to the continuing education of their members by means of ad hoc content.
Furthermore, entering the American market was interesting, as we were recognized as CES Provider by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Aside from the production and publication of films with important icons of the world of culture and art, a series of events and public projections lie ahead, already scheduled for 2020 in America: stay tuned!
Isplora.com’s productions are at the heart of everything.
18 films produced during the last year, for a total of about 600 hours of footage during which our video-makers, authors and directors worked hard to narrate the various aspects of the architectural project, connecting us to designers and companies, telling stories of innovation and bringing to the screen possible research themes, methodologies and dialogues with the territory.
A journey that led us to meet over 60 architects and international architectural firms, starting with the production of the ArchiTALKS series, where figures such as Carlo Ratti, Italo Rota, PIUARCH, Alvisi Kirimoto and Andreas Kipar (LAND) alternated in a journey between practice and research, different ways of conceiving and carrying out their profession.
While ArchiTALKS focused on the figure of the architect, our other productions highlighted important projects, such as the one of NOI Techpark in Bolzano, and increasingly contemporary topics such as Retrofitting, narrating the process in its complexity up to its compositional and technological aspects. The production of Open House Roma-Torino was especially interesting: an opportunity to talk about interior architecture, greatly appreciated by our members.
I can say that in 2020 we will further increase our offer and program. We will be in Dubai for EXPO and will then move to Asia for important projects that will then become very interesting films. A unique opportunity for high-quality continuing education.
The magazine confirmed itself as a useful tool to narrate projects and the latest news, food for thought on architecture. An original production, including 116 articles written and published by Isplora.com’s editorial staff only in 2019. Not a mere digest, but a continuous editorial offer, useful to professionals.
In 2020 big names will join Isplora.com’s editorial staff as guest editors to give a more international feel to our articles.
Social networks are essential in architectural narration today. They have allowed us to let you enter our world, during our productions and events, telling you anecdotes and showing you our way of interpreting architecture. We learned that numbers in this case are not important. Our followers are true fans of what we do and offer. Data tell us our content is viewed and shared and has an above-average reading time.
To end this short excursus, I’d like to thank all our members and clients for the trust you placed in us during this successful 2019. While wishing you happy holidays, I invite you to keep on following us and watching our films also in 2020.
